Materialistic things consume todayâs society, whether it is cars, clothing, or jewelry, in a sense we rely on these objects for our Adidas Stan Smith Dames happiness. Companies such as Nike, Gap, and Toms, have all had major success do to their loyal customers, who seek the name brand logo of their company. These companies have continued to grow tremendously, making billions of dollars; the companies strive to find ways to outsourcing its manufacturing, in hopes of making more and more profit. Profit is not the only thing that rises, many questions and investigations have occurred, exposing the poor ethical choices these businesses have made. Nike, one of the most well- known and profitable companies have experienced this heavy scrutiny first hand. Throughout this essay the reader will gain a better understanding of Nikeâs poor ethical business decisions and what actions they took in order to repair their image.
In 1965 two men by the names of Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight started Blue Ribbon Sports, now known as Nike, the business almost instantly became a top competitor. In 2012 Nike was said to have a net worth of 67 billion dollars, and co-founder Phil Knight a net worth Nike Air Huarache Homme of 18.7 billion dollars. The amount of profit Nike has attained is eye- opening, which made individuals that much more infuriated when they discovered Nike was accused of having sweatshops internationally. The accusations began in 1991 when activist Jeff Ballinger published a report, documenting the harsh conditions workers were forced to work in. Nike views all of its stakeholders as important components to the success and sustainability of Nike Inc. Sweatshops have been present for centuries. Since sweatshops were discovered no other company has received as much criticism as Nike has. Nike moved most of its production markets across the globe because this gave them several benefits. Expanding into China, the worldâs most populous country, opened up a huge opportunity to spread into all of Asia because there was the labor aspect in which cheap labor could produce shoes and other clothing at a lower cost. Everything seemed well in the corporation as stockholders and managers were receiving huge dividends and the public was receiving great products.
However, in 1991 problems began, Jeff Ballinger a labor activist made a report on working conditions and wage levels for the Asian-American Free Labor Association(Nisen). You still need a pair of shoe that will help in gaining control over the soccer ball and give you accuracy with speed. In a soccer game if you have proper gear, you are more likely to play well. Also, it provide a great confidence on player playing. Changing your soccer shoe can actually make the difference in your game play.
I have divided this essay in three main Nike Air Cortez Femme parts. In the first part, I will give the description of the whole advertisement. The second part will be analyzing the ad and the third part will be the conclusion about how people got convinced by this ad to buy their soccer shoe. Nike Inc. is an American multinational corporation that is into designing, manufacturing, developing and marketing services worldwide. It also provide service in footwear, apparel, equipment, and accessories. It is one of the world's largest suppliers of athletic shoes and apparel. It is also a major manufacturer of sports equipment, which generated revenue in excess of US$24.1 billion in its fiscal year 2012.Nike employed more than 44,000 people worldwide as in 2012. The brand alone is valued at $10.7 billion. Hence, making it the most valuable brand in sports.
