There is the ‘Must Start’ which either (1) an elite player you drafted early that you play every week or (2) a player with a match-up to juicy to pass by. In some cases you may have an even better option to play so in that case adjust appropriately.The second tier is players you drafted high but may not have great match-ups and you got nothing better on the bench or via waiver. I then list the players you should not start that you might consider at some point this season. I’ll then cap it with any potential sleepers in this match-up.So let’s get to it.Must StartWR Odell Beckham Color Rush Devin Funchess Jersey , QB Cam Newton, RB Saquon Barkley,  RB Christian McCaffreyThese should be pretty safe starts all around. I would love to say Barkley will disappoint against the Panthers run defense but his ability to hit a crease and take it a distance is something we’ve seen other running backs do already this season. Start if you have toQB Eli Manning, Panthers defense, K Graham GanoIf the Panthers can contain Barkley then they have a chance to create turnovers and keep the score down. Do not startRB C.J. Anderson, WR Devin Funchess, TE Ian Thomas, WR Curtis Samuel, WR Torrey Smith, WR Jarius WrightFunchess draws Janoris Jenkins who kept Saints WR Michael Thomas in check. I like Samuel’s potential but I have to see at least one game where he gets more than five targets before I spend a roster spot on him. In general Panthers wide receivers are too inconsistent to start in fantasy on a regular basis. Instead you should look for a good match-up.Sleeper picksWR Sterling Sheppard, WR DJ Moore, TE Rhett EllisonThe slot receiver will play a key role in both offenses Color Rush Taylor Moton Jersey , hence the Sheppard and Moore recommendations. This is provided those snaps don’t go to recently returned Curtis Samuel.Bonus helpHead to head match-up analysisSo in one of the my leagues I have both Matt Ryan and Cam Newton. I’m a little torn between who to start given how hot Ryan has been, which is the direction I am leaning. I also understand how well Newton plays at home. So I turned to a match-up analyzer. Here’s what it says.That is a solid lean to Newton you would say in layman's terms. In statistical terms it is ‘significant’. I’m putting Newton in and we will see next week is the collective experts know anything.Keep Pounding! The Panthers will face the Giants this weekend at arguably the healthiest they’ve been. They appear poised for a physical game that could get ugly, quick.Luke Kuechly vs. Saquon BarkleyI’d call this one of the marquee matchups of Week 5, as the best linebacker in the league takes on the next multi-faceted stud at running back in the league’s future. Kuechly is an elite run and pass defender, while Barkley has shown to be a weapon at all levels of their offense. The Giants have struggled throwing the ball and protecting Eli Manning, meaning that Barkley should be a focal point for this offense. These two will clash heavily. One thing to monitor is exactly how the Giants choose to attack this linebacker corps, as Mike Shula is extremely familiar with their strengths and weaknesses.Donte Jackson vs. Sterling ShepardWhile many will look at the matchup with James Bradberry and Odell Beckham Jr, I’m watching this one. Beckham hasn’t been quite himself as of late, and should face a ton of bracketed/double coverage this weekend. What I expect to see is Eli picking on Jackson as much as possible. Shepard has played well this season, and while I believe we will see plenty of shots down the field for Beckham, the chain mover for the Giants should be Shepard as he faces off against a rookie and will likely see mostly one on one looks. Jackson is going to be tested, whether Bradberry shadows Beckham or not.Chris Clark vs. Olivier VernonI have to preface this by saying that this Panthers offensive line has been playing admirably. They are downright impressive despite all the injuries. However Color Rush James Bradberry Jersey , the weak link is Clark, as they’ve schemed around him and Cam Newton has avoided pressure because he’s so darn mobile. The Giants could, and really should, attack Clark with their best pass rusher in Vernon. He is passable on the left side, where Taylor Moton has been amazing on the right. I expect the Giants to challenge Clark as much as possible to challenge Cam Newton, and it starts with their highly touted and highly paid edge rusher. This one could get ugly.Jarius Wright vs. Landon CollinsWithout Greg Olsen, the biggest factor in the slot passing game is Jarius Wright. Cam clearly trusts him, and he’s made plays. I expect the Giants to really sell out to stop the run after Christian McCaffery ran for 180+ yards against the Bengals, and force Cam to win with his other weapons. Devin Funchess will see a lot of Janoris Jenkins, while I expect some heavy game plan for McCaffery as a receiver. D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel should get some looks this game, but Wright is the security blanket for Cam when they really need a conversion. Wright could have a career game.
