Both teams, however, have been pushed to the limit at least once by their opposition. T.J. Oshie earned his Sochi celebrity by carrying the U.S. to a shootout win over Russia in the preliminary round. Canada, meanwhile, needed overtime to beat Finland in their Group B matchup.
