SEATTLE -- More than an hour after watching Steven Hauschka kick the winning field goal in overtime, Russell Wilson stood behind the interview podium after getting beaten and battered again. Overcoming a 21-point deficit, even against the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers, took another showcase performance from Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks in the second half. It was an ugly way for Seattle to remain on top of the NFC and for the best start in Seahawks history to continue. "That was a huge win. You think about the deficit we were under and to be able to comeback in that fashion ... thats big time," Wilson said. Hauschka kicked a 27-yard field goal with 8:11 left in overtime, and the Seahawks overcame a 21-0 deficit to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 27-24 on Sunday. Wilson threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Doug Baldwin with 1:51 left in regulation to pull the Seahawks even then led Seattle on a nine-play, 51-yard drive in overtime capped by Hauschkas winner. Seattle tied the franchise record with its 12th straight home victory, which coincides with Wilson being a perfect 12-0 at home as Seattles starter. After being pushed to the final yard on the final play last Monday at St. Louis, the Seahawks had to fight through another sloppy effort to knock off a double-digit underdog. "Im kind of (upset)," Seattle safety Earl Thomas said. "But Im ready to get back on the field. Im ready to get back to work. Ready to correct those mistakes." Seattle rallied from 20-0 down at Denver in 1995 for a 31-27 victory. Tampa Bay fell to 0-8 for the first time since 1985 when the Buccaneers started the season 0-9. They pushed Seattle around at the line of scrimmage, watched Mike Glennon manage the game well and saw Mike James rush for a career-best 158 yards. But Seattles defence started getting stops in the second half, the Seahawks overcame two interceptions in the red zone and Lynch overcame a sore knee and feeling ill in the first quarter to have his best game of the season. Wilson finished 19 of 26 for 219 yards and two touchdowns. He stood in against countless blitzes from the Bucs defence and made key completions in the second half. Tampa Bay never sacked Wilson, even though he was hit officially six times. "Hes just making the plays. I tried to stay all over him, all day. I tried," Tampa Bay defensive tackle Gerald McCoy said. "The dude is 5-6. Its not fair, man. But whatever. Hes sneaking here and there. Hes just making plays." Lynch finished with 125 yards on 21 carries. Lynch rushed for 43 yards on Seattles first possession of the game and then had runs of 10, 14 and 13 yards in overtime that set up Hauschkas winning kick. "He wanted every single yard. He was in beast mode today," Seattle fullback Michael Robinson said. "He was upset and he was running mad." Glennon was 17 of 23 for 168 yards and two touchdowns. He managed the game almost flawlessly in the first half, but could not sustain drives in the second half and gave Seattle a chance to rally. Glennon hit 10 of his first 11 passes, including touchdown passes of 12 yards to Tim Wright and 20 yards to Tiquan Underwood as the Bucs dominated the first half. Glennons first two TD passes capped the Bucs two longest touchdown drives of the season. Tampa Bay scored on four of its first six drives and gained 274 total yards. The Bucs gained just 76 yards on its final five drives and never ran a play in Seattle territory. "When you have a team down like that, youve got to choke them out," Bucs cornerback Darrelle Revis said. "Because great teams come back. And they are a great team." Wilson was 15 of 18 passing in the second half and overtime and ran for a 10-yard touchdown late in the third quarter. He threw a bad interception on Seattles first drive at the Bucs 14 and was intercepted at the goal line in the fourth quarter when Keith Tandy tipped Wilsons pass for Baldwin and pulled in the interception. Despite the mistakes, Wilson was steady. He got started at the end of the first half by hitting Jermaine Kearse on a 16-yard touchdown then found Baldwin beating a blitz by the Bucs to pull Seattle even at 24. Seattle also got an electric 71-yard punt return from Golden Tate to set up Hauschka for a 36-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter. "It doesnt matter what the situation is, what adversity we face, were going to come out on top," Baldwin said. Notes: Seattle C Max Unger left in the fourth quarter with a concussion. ... James had 96 yards rushing coming into the game. ... Bucs finished with 205 yards rushing. Seattle allowed consecutive teams to top 200 yards rushing for first time since 2002. The story of the scoreless first period was Hurricanes goaltender Cam Ward, as the Jets outshot the Hurricanes 13-6 and had a number of grade “A” scoring chances, the best off the stick of Bryan Little. http://www.blakebortlesjersey.com/authentic-toby-g...ersey.h tml . Now shes ready to make waves in the U.S. Pace shot a 3-under 68 on Saturday to grab a share of the third-round lead with Laura Diaz in the Marathon Classic. She can barely express what a breakthrough win on the LPGA Tour might bring. Toby Gerhart Womens Jersey . Blake Griffin had 27 points and eight rebounds, Chris Paul added 19 points -- including a go-ahead layup in the final minute -- and the Clippers beat the Hawks 109-108 on Saturday night for their season-high seventh straight win. "In the locker room, I almost felt like we lost the game, because we expect a lot from themselves," Paul said. Austin Pasztor Womens Jersey . Niese pitched seven steady innings on a rainy Tuesday night and Daniel Murphy had three hits to lead New York to a 6-1 victory over the Phillies.NEW ORLEANS -- Anthony Davis is getting even better while the New Orleans Pelicans close out another difficult season. Davis set career highs with 40 points and 21 rebounds, and Eric Gordon made two crucial free throws in overtime to lead the Pelicans to a 121-120 overtime victory over the Boston Celtics on Sunday night. "My teammates tell me that they feed off my energy and they want me to be great so I cant be timid and do what it takes to help my team win," said Davis, who also blocked three shots, making him the eight player in NBA history with at least 40 points, 20 rebounds and three blocks in a game. "Were trying to do a better job of making me comfortable down the stretch." Tyreke Evans added 26 points and Gordon had 19 for the Pelicans (27-39), who had lost two consecutive games. Gordons foul shots with 9.4 seconds remaining gave the Pelicans a 121-117 lead. "In overtime we did enough to squeak out a one-point win," Pelicans coach Monty Williams said. Jeff Green, who led Boston with 39 points, answered Gordons free throws in overtime with a three-point play that trimmed New Orleans lead to 121-120 with 5.7 seconds remaining. But the Celtics were unable to foul on the inbounds play and New Orleans ran out the clock. "At least we played with better poise at the end of regulation and overtime," said Celtics coach Brad Stevens, who blamed a defensive miscommunication for Boston not committing the late foul. "We gave ourselves a chance to win on the offensive end. Guys got a couple of stops, just not enough at the end." Davis did not score in overtime but controlled the middle by grabbing six rebounds. He became the first player in franchise history to have at least 40 points and 20 rebounds in a game. He is averaging 32.3 points in his last six games. His previous high for points was Friday night when he scored 36 in a loss against Portland. Davis 21 rebounds erased his previous career high of 19 against Orlanddo on Jan.dddddddddddd 26. "I think he can do this 10 to 15 times a year just because he is so gifted and does things for the right reason," Williams said. "Obviously, he has great athletic ability but some of that stuff is just him. We try to put him in a position where he can be a dominant player." Green made three big free throws late in regulation, tying it at 110. Davis answered with a jumper for New Orleans, but Kris Humphries, who scored 16 points, sent the game into overtime on a long jumper from the right corner. "Thats a tough one to swallow," said Celtics forward Jared Sullinger, who scored 14 points. "(Humphries) hitting that big shot to send it into overtime, we thought we could win. In the end we came up short." Avery Bradley had 12 points for the Celtics, who lost their fourth consecutive game. Evans layup with 5:33 remaining in the fourth quarter gave the Pelicans a 102-89 lead. Boston then closed with a 23-10 surge to force the extra period. It was similar to the past two games when the Pelicans blew leads against Memphis and Portland. "We played defence in the fourth quarter and in overtime and got stops when we needed it," Davis said. "We came up with the rebounds and made free throws." The Celtics, who attempted to push the pace against the defence-minded Pelicans, closed the first half on a 17-8 run to take a 64-57 halftime lead. Boston scored 39 points in the second period. Green had 20 points at the break. He had a tying dunk with 4:11 left and a 3-pointer with 2:35 remaining, giving Boston a 54-49 lead. NOTES: The Pelicans finished 24 of 28 from the free-throw line, after making their only two foul shots in the first half. ... Davis was 12 of 12 from the line, and has not missed an attempt in his past three games. ... The Pelicans have won their past five games that have gone into overtime. ... New Orleans scored a season-high 70 points in the paint, and held Boston to 46. ' ' '
