LeBron James scored 13 of his 33 points in the fourth quarter and brought Cleveland Cavaliers back from a 17-point deficit to stun the Washington Wizards 119-115 on Thursday night and maintain the No. 3 playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
The Cavs trailed 104-87 with 7:35 left before storming back behind James Authentic Rhys Hoskins Jersey , who added 14 assists, nine rebounds to give coach Tyronn Lue a win in his return after missing nine games due to health reasons.
Jeff Green added 21 points and Kevin Love had 16 for the Cavs, who are 10-1 since March 17, when Lue was forced to leave a game in Chicago with âpiercingâ chest pains.
It took another of those patented Jamesâ comebacks to down the Wizards, who have dropped seven of nine and are in a three-way battle with Milwaukee and Miami for playoff positioning.
Washingtonâs John Wall looked more like his speedy All-Star self in his third game back from knee surgery, scoring 28 points with 14 assists. But he had a costly turnover in the closing seconds and the Wizards couldnât put away the Cavs down the stretch.
A basket by Markieff Morris gave the Wizards a 110-100 lead with 3:16 left, but James scored six straight, fed Green for layup, and Rodney Hood made two free throws to complete a 10-0 run by the Cavs.
Greenâs two free throws â on a tough call against Washington â gave the Cavs a 116-115 lead, but after Walls missed a short jumper, James split a pair of three throws, giving Washington one last chance.
Wall drove the lane but his twisting pass back outside was stolen by rookie Cedi Osman, who made two free throws to close it out.
ROCKETS 96, TRAIL BLAZERS 94
HOUSTON (AP) â Chris Paul hit an off-balance layup with 0.8 seconds left to lift Houston past Portland.
Paul scored 27 points to help Houston get its second straight victory since a loss to San Antonio. The Rockets swept their four-game season series with Portland.
Portlandâs Damian Lillard sat out after spraining his left ankle Tuesday against Dallas.
The Rockets led by 24 in the second quarter and still had a big lead with about five minutes left before the Trail Blazers went on a 19-2 run to tie it at 94-all with 6.1 seconds left.
James Harden, who finished with 24 points Authentic DaeSean Hamilton Jersey , missed two free throws with 13.3 seconds left before Pat Connaughton tied it with a short basket.
Paul made the winner before crashing to the court. It gave Houston its first points since Harden made a basket with just less than four minutes left. Portland had a chance to win it at the buzzer, but C.J. McCollumâs 3-point attempt was off. McCollum led the Trail Blazers with 16 points.

Kevin Durant had 27 points, five rebounds and seven assists, but Golden Stateâs three-game winning streak ended. Klay Thompson had 16 points before being shut out in the second half. The Warriors were swept by an Eastern Conference team for the first time since Charlotte did it in 2013-14.

Derrick Favors scored 16 points, and Jonas Jerebko and Alec Burks each had 13.
The Clippers were playing for their playoff lives but the Jazz displayed the intensity and urgency from the opening tip and never trailed. L.A. trails eighth-place New Orleans by 2 1/2 games with just three to play. ustin Rivers led Los Angeles with 19 points Hank Aaron Jersey , and Montrezl Harrell had 17.
Stephen Curry and Draymond Green admire Rockets coach Mike DâAntoni from afar for how he empowers all his players to be scorers.
No matter who you are, just let it fly â and for the Rockets that means regularly from 3-point range. And in transition whenever possible.
Golden State coach Steve Kerr praises DâAntoni for influencing the way NBA teams now play offense: the pace and the space; precise ball movement and playing small without a traditional center; shooting at will and shooting from way back.
Still, for all his success in leading the Westâs top team this season, DâAntoni might need a championship to validate his style.
Standing in the way are the defending champion Warriors, who open the best-of-seven Western Conference finals at Houston on Monday night.
âHe empowers everyone to shoot the basketball, and thatâs dangerous,â said Green, Golden Stateâs bruising forward. âThatâs why heâs been so successful, especially on that side of the ball with any team heâs ever coached because thatâs definitely an area where heâs a mastermind. â
DâAntoni downplays his significance in developing todayâs game.
âI think a lot of things combined to change it,â he said. âOne, they changed the rules and, two, the analytic people came in and put validation over 3s and stuff we were doing in Phoenix. Yeah, we kind of jumped out there because of the team we had and Steve Nash before anybody really caught on. And it worked. So in a little sense part of it, but there was a lot of factors.â
DâAntoniâs teams recall those running Authentic Josh Allen Jersey , high-flying Denver Nuggets of the `80s, led by Alex English, Dan Issel and Kiki VanDeWeghe.
While Kerr has long expressed how much he learned from mentor Gregg Popovich of the San Antonio Spurs, he notes, âI was inspired by Mike.â
âThe guy who deserves the most credit for changing the way the league is played is Mike DâAntoni,â Kerr said. âHeâs the guy who just eliminated the center position and said, `Letâs go small and fast and shoot more 3s.ââ
Not that Kerr was immediately convinced such a style would work. After all, while Suns general manager in 2008, he traded All-Star Shawn Marion to Miami for Shaquille OâNeal, who hardly fit that focus of play. Kerr has called it a âbad moveâ all these years later.
DâAntoni left for New York at the end of that season and went 121-167 before resigning from the Knicks in March 2012. But Carmelo Anthony was never comfortable with or committed to DâAntoniâs way.
The Houston coach has said most everybody doubted his system, but the game has evolved.
âIn the old days, you had kind of three out, two in, you had your traditional power forward, whether it was Karl Malone or Charles Oakley or somebody like that who was going to maybe shoot a 15-footer Saints Rick Leonard Jersey , but he was going to be banging down in the paint,â Kerr said.
âMike eliminated that and created all that much more space. ⦠The influence is there in the strategy and then over the last 10 years every player in the league has spent his summers shooting 500 3-pointers a day.â
Kerrâs partnership with DâAntoni lasted only that 2007-08 season in Phoenix before DâAntoni bolted for New York. A decade later, the 67-year-old DâAntoni has enjoyed his most successful stint in these two seasons with the Rockets.
His influence has reached the college game, too.
In the summer of 2014, Tara VanDerveer, the womenâs Hall of Fame coach from Stanford, called on DâAntoni for an assist She needed to revamp her offense from the Cardinalâs tried-and-true triangle. DâAntoni helped with the transition.
Facing a DâAntoni team, Curry is prepared to defend constant pick-and-rolls. He understands the fast and creative tempo at which DâAntoniâs team plays.
âI guess youâd call it unorthodox when it comes to the things that he tries,â Curry said. âBut it seems that anybody who goes and plays for DâAntoniâs system their offensive numbers go out the roof, just because he knows how to put guys in the right positions and instill confidence when youâre out there to make plays.â
David Lee, an ex-Warrior, played for DâAntoni with the Knicks. Curry says Lee spoke of how DâAntoni sought to bring out the best in his players.
âSo heâs had a great track record of putting up crazy offensive numbers and whatnot,â Curry said. âAnd as a guy watching teams he used to coach he was always fun to watch.â
