WASHINGTON (AP) â In what could be one of his final games for the Nationals Craig Stammen Jersey , Bryce Harper added another accomplishment to his impressive resume.Anthony Rendon homered and drove four runs, Harper reached 100 RBIs in a season for the first time and Washington beat the Miami Marlins 7-3.Juan Soto and Matt Wieters also homered for the Nationals, who broke it open with four runs on three pitches in the fourth inning.Harper started the big inning, driving in his 100th run with a sacrifice fly that scored Adam Eaton and put Washington ahead 3-1.âI think for me itâs just going out there and trying to score runs and doing the things I can. If I can get to 100 runs, 100 walks and 100 RBIs, itâs pretty cool,â said Harper, who has 126 walks and 99 runs scored. âIâll take that any day of the week.âHis previous high was 99 RBIs in 2015, when he won the NL MVP Award. Harper, a pending free agent, got a standing ovation from the sparse, rain-soaked crowd and congratulations from his teammates.Asked if heâs thought about this possibly being his final home series at Nationals Park, Harper said: âI think for me if Iâm worried about that, Iâm not worried about my at-bats that night or the game. Iâve got two more games at home and weâll see what happens on Wednesday.âAfter Harperâs milestone http://www.padresfanproshop.com/authentic-trevor-h...man-jer sey , Rendon and Soto homered back-to-back on the next two pitches from Sandy Alcantara (2-2). Rendon lofted a two-run shot down the left-field line, and Soto lined one into the visitorsâ bullpen in left-center to make it 6-1.Rendon extended his on-base streak to 32 games, the longest active streak in the majors.âHeâs Mr. Steady,â manager Dave Martinez said of Rendon, who has 23 homers and 87 RBIs in 131 games. âHis all-around game, defense, offense, heâs the guy that keeps our offense together.âJustin Miller (7-1) allowed one unearned run in the fifth in relief of Stephen Strasburg, who was pulled after throwing 100 pitches over four innings. Strasburg gave up a run on three hits and four walks while striking out five and hitting a batter.Strasburg hasnât lost since returning from the disabled list on Aug. 22.Peter OâBrien had two hits for Miami, which had won three straight. The Marlins left 10 men on base, five in the first two innings.âYeah we had a lot of chances,â Marlins manager Don Mattingly said. â(Strasburg) threw close to 40 (pitches) in the first and had guys out there. Even after they score we still got guys out there, have a chance to get right back in it there and not able to do anything.âAlcantara allowed six runs on seven hits and five walks in four innings. The Nationals trailed 1-0 in the first when Rendonâs double scored Eaton and Harper.QUOTABLEâItâs sad that he doesnât get the recognition that he should as one of the best third basemen in the game. I think itâs not fair because he definitely is a big-time player â a superstar player â every single dayâ â Harper on Rendon.TRAINERâS ROOMMarlins: Mattingly expects RHP Jose Urena, who experienced leg cramps last time out Evan Longoria Jersey , to make his next scheduled start Friday in New York. âHe ran yesterday,â Mattingly said. âIt looks like heâs going to be fine. Heâs getting an extra day (Thursday) anyway. I think heâll start.âNationals: RHP Tanner Roark went home Sunday to be with his wife after the recent birth of their third child. He is still slated to start Wednesday.UP NEXTMarlins: RHP Jeff Brigham (0-3, 5.84) makes his fourth major league start and first against Washington.Nationals: RHP Max Scherzer (17-7, 2.57) needs 10 strikeouts to reach 300 for the season. Heâs 4-0 with a 2.67 ERA against the Marlins in 2018. LOS ANGELES â While the long ball is getting all the attention for the Los Angeles Dodgers of late, they have also used an old reliable to get them in position to grab their sixth consecutive National League West title. Before the current series against the San Diego Padres began, Dodgers starters had a 3.06 ERA since the All-Star break, the best mark in the major leagues. That number had come in 57 starts and 332 innings. Then came a stumble Friday from right-hander Ross Stripling and the Dodgers fell 5-3 to the last-place Padres. Los Angelesâ lead in the National League West fell to 1 1/2 games with just over a week remaining in the season. Stripling lasted just 3 1/3 innings.Article continues below ...Carrying those Dodgers pitching expectations into Saturdayâs game against the Padres is left-hander Rich Hill (9-5, 4.02 ERA), who has done his part during the teamâs second-half pitching success. Hill is 7-1 since the All-Star break, posting a 3.55 ERA. In his 11 second-half starts, the Dodgers have gone 8-3.The Dodgers have not always had all aspects of their game firing at once until the last two weeks. The starting pitchers, though, had long since set an example for the rest of the team. The intensity has ramped up further as a Dodgers team that has played three National League Championship Series and one World Series over the last five years has that October look once again.âThese are playoff games,â Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. âI think you can see the intent on every single pitch. We smell the finish line of the regular season. Thereâs a lot of sacrifice going on. The preparation hasnât wavered. The bottom line is we have very good players.âThat sounds good Andrew McCutchen Jersey , but the Dodgers are actually 1-3 in their last four games against last-place teams. They lost two of three to the Cincinnati Reds on their most recent road trip. The Padres would like to see rookie right-hander Jacob Nix (2-3, 5.75) rise to the occasion amid all that Dodger Stadium energy Saturday, and against an opposing veteran starter who has been a key member in the Dodgersâ last three playoff runs.Complicating matters for Nix is a sore hip that might need surgery in the offseason, although the right-hander is doing everything he can to avoid going down that route. He will not only be focused on the Dodgers on Saturday, but will have to be in lock step with his mechanics as well.âI donât want to be compensating for something down the chain,â Nix said, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.Nix has just seven career starts, all since Aug. 10. His best outing came Aug. 28 against the Seattle Mariners, when he gave up just one run over 8 1/3 innings, but he has given up 14 earned runs in the three starts since then (6.19 ERA).Nix has never faced the Dodgers. Hill has two starts against the Padres this year, going 1-1 with a 2.77 ERA over 13 innings. He is 5-4 lifetime against San Diego with a 3.09 ERA over 10 starts.
