Elsa/Getty ImagesNew York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Severino said he did not rush his warm-up routine before New York's 16-1 loss to the Boston Red Sox in Game 3 of the American League Division Series on Monday at Yankee Stadium.According to ESPN.com's Coley Harvey David Robertson Jersey , Severino contradicted comments made byTBS broadcaster andformerMLBpitcherRon Darling. The game started at 7:40 p.m. ET, but Severino didn't step onto the bullpen mound until 7:32 p.m. ET, prompting Darling to say on air it was "very late" for a pitcher to begin warm-up tosses. In response, Severino later said, "I mean, if my pitching coach said that [it was late] to you, you can believe it. But [Darling] is not always in my bullpen, so how does he know what's going on? I came out 20 minutes before the game like I usually do. I don't know why he was saying that.I don't know who that guy is http://www.yankeesfanproshop.com/authentic-sonny-gray-jersey , either."While Severino said he normally begins his warm-up by playing catch in the outfield 20 minutes before the start of the game, he wasn't seen playing catch on camera until less than 15 minutes before the first pitch.Neither Yankees pitching coach LarryRothschild nor manager Aaron Boone felt Severino rushed his warm-up.Boone noted, "He had what he intended to go down there and get done."Former Yankees catcher and current analyst John Flaherty disagreed on the YES Network postgame show, however, saying, "There is no way you can go on a big league bullpen mound eight minutes before the scheduled first pitch and expect to be ready."Severino lasted just three innings Monday, allowing seven hits, two walks and six earned runs while striking out two.The outing stood in stark contrast to his AL Wild Card Game performance against the Oakland Athletics in which he went four strong innings Luis Severino Jersey , allowing two hits, four walks and no runs while striking out seven. The 24-year-old righty was a leading American League Cy Young Award candidate through the first three months of the season, as he started 12-2 with a 2.10 ERA.He also won his first two starts of July, but from July 12 onward, Severino went 5-6 with a 5.69 ERA, finishing the season 19-8 with a 3.39 ERA.Severino's poor Game 3 outing pushed the Yanks to the brink of elimination, but veteran lefty CC Sabathia will look to keep the Yankees' ALCS hopes alive when he faces Rick Porcello and the Red Sox on Tuesday in Game 4 at Yankee Stadium. American League teams often have to do some significant lineup shuffling in World Series road games because National League rules don't include the designated hitter. As a result, Boston Red Sox manager Alex Coracould explore all of his options to try to field the best team in the upcoming championship round."I don't know http://www.yankeesfanproshop.com/authentic-aaron-h...cks-jer sey , man," Cora said when asked if outfielder Mookie Betts would play second base during the Fall Classic to get J.D. Martinez, the team's DH, into the lineup, according to ESPN.com. "He already played second in the regular season. There's always a chance, I guess."Betts made one appearance at second during the regular season as an injury replacement for Ian Kinsler. Before that August 3 game, Betts had not played anywhere other than the outfield since his rookie season in 2014. He appeared in 14 contests at second base that year. The two-time Gold Gloveoutfielder has a career .956 fielding percentage at second, having committed three errors in 15 games. It's a dilemma for Cora. Putting Betts at the keystone would weaken the team's defense and could make him a liability in the field. With a playoff series on the line Aaron Judge Jersey , defensive miscues can be the difference. You don't need to tell Red Sox fansthat. Then again, if Betts doesn't shift to the infield, Cora would either have to find a spot for Martinez or use him off the bench. Considering Martinez ranked first in the majors in RBI (130) and second in batting average (.330) and home runs (43), it would be tough to sit him.Boston is fortunate enough to have four outfielders worthy of starting in the World Series, but finding each of them at-bats will be a problem in the NL park. Neither Jackie Bradley Jr. nor Andrew Benintendi has played anywhere other than the outfield in the majors. The Red Sox skipper has time to ponder the situation, as the first two games of the best-of-seven series will take place at Fenway Park on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, against either the Milwaukee Brewers or Los Angeles Dodgers. The World Series will shift to the National League park Friday Gleyber Torres Jersey , Oct. 26, for three games.Cora's decision could be impacted by the opponent or how the first two contests play out. Regardless, it will be a storyline to keep an eye on.
